His best game was Chicago. Getting about 6-7 less touches and not shooting well—probably not getting many post looks I’m thinking. Need him in the post and being aggressive, the Heat’s best post big man.

yeah, I have seen it (what you are saying)...
when a big center is put on him that can move his feet (at least some), he has a lot tougher time pushing his way into the paint—he does not have touch on turnarounds and still needs to bull his way in there for most of his points—and he gets frustrated even with how strong he is. Spo needs to learn, might as well used all twelve of those fouls and used that size to lean on DH.

but I still say don’t double DH too much and let him shoot. He cant get to the rim everytime and will start shooting some bricks at some point. Even if he goes off, it is two at a time instead of a wide open three after three. Hell, we had the twenty something point lead last year and they kept doubling and tripling him..

What was frustrating to see was how many wide open 3s the magic had all game long!

Let dH get his 30-35 pts, but play everyone else straight up! But leave it to Spo to not adjust anything defensivly and have the Magic shoot wide open 3s all night!

The heat didnt go to sleep in this game.
They came back several times only to see their efforts fail by the magic’s 3 pt shooting!
At some point in this game, Spo should have instructed his players to stay on the 3pt shooter.
The Magic took 42 3pt shots, 42! and made 17 of them. that tells you that shot was there all night for them! that was the difference in this game! At what point does the coach say enough, fellas dont leave their 3 pt shooters?

i would take 42 3-ball attempts by an opponent if our side takes care of the other defensive stuff and is its usual self on offense.. i think we’re focusing too much on these threes. didn’t work for the knicks, right?

not sure we need to be too worked up over that stat
it’s not like the magic shot over 60% from there
and it’s not like we don’t care.. just saying spo isn’t exactly to blame.. doubling-down on DH is not a bad idea when we have deficiency at C ..
remember .. even with half-court issues.. this is still the miami heat you’re talking about, and its not unreasonable to expect the heat to .. u know.. outscore others .. to make up for some perhaps-unavoidable defensive dilemmas.
but OK… if the magic had shot 60%+ from 3 .. i’d probably start to wonder what was up with spo =)
