Eddy Curry could be close making Miami Heat debut
Tuesday night it was Mike Miller making his debut for the Heat after missing the entire season following hernia surgery. On Wednesday coach Erik Spoelstra hinted to the media that another player could be ready to come off the inactive list and begin contributing in games. When asked if Eddy Curry could possibly dress on Thursday to help with the Lakers Andrew Bynum coming to town, Spo had this to say:
"Possibly. I'll reevaluate day to day. If it doesn't happen tomorrow or this week, it's soon."
The 7-foot center (and former 4th overall draft pick in 2001) hasn't played in an NBA game since December 17th, 2009, when he played for the New York Knicks. Having weighed close to 400 lbs, Curry has been dropping weight like crazy since joining up with the Heat and becoming much more dedicated to revamping his career. He is now listed at 285lbs, which is almost 50 lbs less then he weighted at the beginning of training camp. Back then he was bragging about the 70 lbs he had lost while waiting for the lockout to end.
Curry is no longer hindered by the hip flexor injury that he suffered in training camp. At this point its just continuing to work hard while waiting for an opportunity to get into the lineup and start contributing to the team in NBA games. He knows it's going to happen soon, saying that coach Spoelstra told him his return would be "any day now."

I'm eager to see
what we actually have in Curry. This was a very low-risk pick-up. if he works out, it’s great. If he doesn’t, it didn’t cost that much in the larger scheme of things. His size may indeed come in handy against Andrew Bynum, but that boy is playing like he believes he’s the best center in the League, so Eddy’d better truly ready if he’s coming back tonight.
Heat fandom est. 2004
I don't know what to expect from him
I would love to see us with a true center, I rarely see Joel on the court anymore and it’s weird to see no center on the court late in games. Are team is fine without him but If he is something, this team would be complete
We Bout To Let These Haters Know..

We shall see
I dont expect much from Curry, so any good plays will be a positive. I love our current big man rotation of Joel 25 mins, Bosh 35 mins, Haslem 30 mins, and sometimes Pittman with 10-15 mins a game. So who’s minutes will Curry take? I believe he will be our new Magloire. He might be to slow for the Heat’s defensive rotations and he does NOT grab many rebounds. I would rather see pittman get those minutes because young Fat is faster than old fat.
The only positive that could come from Curry is the heat have a track record making back up centers into good players, Ike Austin, Vlade Steponia, Joel, etc
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!
Joel Anthony is the man
do YOU believe in TEBOW
He has lost a lot of weight and supposedly...
is earning the respect of his teammates, but as the rest are saying, not optimistic about him. Like shermon said, do not lose much if he does not pan out. He is relatively young and a big center—prove me wrong Curry.
GET TO THE RIM HEAT (and SKY)! ATTACK THE PAINT!
