Game #12: Miami Heat (8-3) vs. Denver Nuggets (7-4)
The Miami Heat will look to rebound from back-to-back overtime losses tonight when they head to Denver for a matchup with the Nuggets. The game features the two highest-scoring teams in the NBA, with the Heat averaging 106.4 points per game and the Nuggets putting up 103.6. The game wraps up a 5-game road trip for the Heat, who started the season with 8 wins in 9 games before dropping their last two.
This is the third game in four nights for Miami, but after playing the Nuggets they head back to South Florida and play eight of their next nine at home. Getting a win in Denver would be big for the Heat simply because its been so long since they have done so. The last time Miami got a win in the mile-high city was almost ten years ago (January 29, 2002), a streak of nine consecutive games.
GAME NOTES
- Miami is 5-2 on the road and Denver is 5-1 at home.
- During the Heat's five-game road trip, three of the games have gone into overtime.
- Dwyane Wade has at least one blocked shot in 11 straight games, matching a career high.
- Denver dished out a season-high 37 assists in their last game, a 123-115 win over New Jersey.
- Exactly one year ago today, Miami gave up 130 points in an embarrassing loss at the Pepsi Center.
- Mike Miller (hernia) and Eddy Curry (hip) remain out for the Heat. Dwyane Wade (foot) is listed as probable.
- For the Nuggets, Danilo Gallinari (ankle) and Rudy Fernandez (Achilles) are probable, Ty Lawson (foot) will be a game-time decision and DeMarre Carroll (hamstring) is out.
Tipoff from Denver is set for 10:30 and the game will be broadcast locally on Sun Sports and nationally on ESPN.

Coach Spo must have left his sock puppets in LA : )
If we can't laugh at ourselves, Packer fans will call us crybabies and we will be forced to kick their tooth in. I really don't want to go to jail (again).

This game will tell us something about our mettle
I’m not too concerned about the outcome in this one. I want to see the intangibles—the heart, the effort, the energy, etc. This Denver team is tougher than many realize. They are—first and foremost—the epitome of a team. They are balanced and play with a serious chip on their shoulders. I also heard a stat last week on Fox Sports Radio that the professional sports teams in Denver win 75% of their games at home. Some people think “the Altitude” is a myth, but from what I understand, it’s no joke.
I just want to check our pulse in tonight’s game.

I agree, the team was up in the last two, big against the Warriors...
and like last year—on WC trips also—the Heat let up. Come out and play the right way, defense the whole game and getting to the rim the whole game/line (make them LBJ) and then they are going in the right direction (Heat b-ball as Bron said) win or lose.
GET TO THE RIM HEAT (and SKY)! ATTACK THE PAINT!
They better perform tonight
We Bout To Let These Haters Know..
