LeBron James

While watching the finals and seeing that LeBron wasn't playing his best I started to wonder if the Heat would trade him this off season. To me it looked like LeBron didn't even want to win that series while it looked like Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were doing everything they could. After seeing the finals I thought of a trade that I would do in a heartbeat if I were the GM of the Heat.

It seems that Dwight Howard will be traded this off season. Most people think that he'll end up with the Lakers. But I think Miami should send LeBron to Orlando in exchange for Dwight Howard. This would give them a more balanced lineup and I think Howard would work well alongside Chris Bosh in the front court. I don't know if the salaries would match up for a straight up trade so they might have to throw in some extra guys to make this happen.

Most teams don't like to trade superstars within the same conference. But I feel that Orlando would do just that to acquire LeBron. If that trade were to happen it'd make me extremely happy because I'm a huge Dwyane Wade fan. But I found myself rooting against Miami because I hate LeBron James so much. Sending LeBron to Orlando where he would pretty much have no help around him would make me a very happy person. To me this trade makes all the sense in the world.

I'd do it.

Not because I don’t think LeBron is the best, but because Dwight brings defense and rebounding to a team. Wade can do his scoring while Dwight rebounds.

I would also, but I don't think it will happen--(people bring up trades but does anyone really think the Heat will trade him this year or even next??),

if the Heat sign a decent young center like Sam D and hopefully bring along Pitt and have a healthy UD and MM, then the Big 3 would work even better and honestly, it worked well this year despite all the injuries, and hoopla—it depends on how you look at it really; the Heat made it too the finals (second time in history) and were in all the games and won two with the centers they have—I love our guys but Big Z and Damp did not even play and Joel is very limited on offense. A lot of poeple focus on what James said so they say it is a failure—even the big 3 might, I just don’t think of it that way; James played the facilitator role and the Heat really were in the first four big time—once down 2-2, he could not switch gears/lost confidence in his shot, but what gets lost is that Dallas is the better team.

I think the big 3 will play it out for at least two more years before there is trade talk, but we shall see.

The Heat were in the last two also--all the games; the only thing I don't like about DH...

is that his post up game is not solid even at this point though—he has improved but does not have a midrange and can’t hit ft’s (I don’t see this improving). The post moves can get better and the Defense is there.

About the free throws

he’s not a bad FT shooter, he just takes too long. He’s even gotten technicals for taking too long (if thats legal).

This Is A Joke Right ?

you are all giving up after 1 year in which you were two games away from winning a title. You don’t need defense because up until the last 2 games of the playoffs it was the best defense with Chicago’s all year. Wow unbelievable. No wonder Barkley called yall the worst fans in the NBA…. we will take him up in new york.

by SLAUGHTERHOUSE on Jun 17, 2011 12:04 AM EDT reply actions

Nobody is giving up--it just a hypothetical trade that won't ever happen anyway for the best Center is b-ball...

that is not taking a shot at LBJ, I just think if you have a shot to get the best Center who is young then it is an equal trade for LBJ. As I said this year was a success and even would have been a success if the Heat just made it to the ECF—got there and more so, so F**k Barkley. The Heat need a center (you do know we had Big Z and Damp who did not play in the finals and Joel just very limited offensively) and can get a decent one without going after Howard and hopefully Pitt will come along, and UD ect. ect. which I said up there. As I said, the Big three will play this out for at least two more years before any trade talk show up imo.

if anyone needs to go it will be bosh

for a true big man…. because bosh is a tall SF ….if bosh is traded this year i don’t think it would be giving up however trading lebron would be throwing in the towel in my eyes.

by SLAUGHTERHOUSE on Jun 17, 2011 1:10 AM EDT up reply actions

I think with a decent Center...

like Sam D or Wilcox and hopefully if Pitt can come around it will be a big time upgrade a center. Noah and Chandler killed us for the most part and having a healthy UD also will help Bosh play his game—mid-range, fake and drive and post up some. He was asked to play pf and even center out of need and I agree he is not a power player. If the Heat can get a decent center then I think the Heat have a good shot at success again—ECF, Finals or win it all. I don’t see the Heat trading any of these guys, but people show up with these trade proposals which really don’t mean anything because there is no chance of them happening most likely—I just think if you have a chance at DH and still have DW and Bosh, you do it and that is not saying Bron is not a great player. I’m sure the same thing happens at P&T.

I am growing tired of fans from other teams talking trades

Let’s face ti. Wade Bosh and Lebron are staying! Unless the CBA forces the Heat to move them, which I don’t see very likely.

Everything you’re saying about Sam Dalembert is right on. He is a great fit here. Even Kwame Brown could be good here. There is no reason to trade any of the big 3 to fill this hole.

What do you think the Knicks should do over the Summer?...

additions, subtractions, is MD the right guy? The only knock I see about him is that all his teams have averaged giving up at least 103 points per game and as high as 107 no matter if he was in NY or Phx. The Knicks at times played great D though this season—there were stretches even at the end of games, where they stepped up big time.

I didn't mean disrespect with the barkley thing

although i probably could have said it better….. im a rare james fan outside of miami even though he snubbed my team in the summer.

As for DAntoni, the guys mind is in the right place he actually preaches defense more than people may think and against boston the knicks actually showed a little in the first 2 games and then when STAT and billups went down we just didn’t have the talent to do it any more.

He is kind the opposite of your guys coach, spo is a hell of a defensive coach but his offensive sets look too simple ( look at Mike Browns cavaliers ) and he needs to improve…… but with those 2 on the wing that shouldn’t be too hard his job was hard enough with 90 percent of the roster being new players. I personally would like my Knicks to bring in Rick Adelman so we could have a more balanced team.

Yeah, about that...

This post wasn’t even from a Heat fan. Nice way to make that assumption though.

assumption ?

the first paragraph was about how james didn’t seem to want to win and that he would trade him in a heartbeat. you don’t get better trading the best player in the NBA.

I actually am for what miami did in the summer I’m not taking shots at them.

by SLAUGHTERHOUSE on Jun 17, 2011 9:01 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm not for trading James

But you then brought up Barkley’s comments and used them against Heat fans for a post that originated from a Portland fan. That’s like me going to the Bulls’ board to say they’re traitors because a Knicks fan posted there that Rose is overrated.

why would orlando do that

you said it yourself :

“Sending LeBron to Orlando where he would pretty much have no help around him… "

Kobe: "Listen, if you told me at the beginning of the year that we’ve got two games at home to win a championship, yeah, I’ll take that shit"

by hrghori on Jun 17, 2011 8:21 AM EDT reply actions

Why are we having this conversation?

Everywhere I look, I listen to the Ticket, reading other blogs, and now HERE! Of all places. Yes I know a Knick fan started it, but come on man. Lebron is not going anywhere. This was the most sensible thing said here by my guy mjtig:

if the Heat sign a decent young center like Sam D and hopefully bring along Pitt and have a healthy UD and MM, then the Big 3 would work even better and honestly, it worked well this year despite all the injuries, and hoopla—it depends on how you look at it really; the Heat made it too the finals (second time in history) and were in all the games and won two with the centers they have—I love our guys but Big Z and Damp did not even play and Joel is very limited on offense. Now can we please stop with the trade possibilities. The only trade I would be interested in possibly is getting Baron Davis over here if we can work with his off court issues about his health and motivation

Thanks rangerjae...

one correction though, the original post was by a Blazer fan who hates LBJ a ton, (Aaron Sass); the Knick fan is OK with LBJ and later apologized for the comment about the A**head Barkley.

I think this topic is an interesting hypothetical, no matter how unlikely. First the main reason any Wade or Lebron trade won’t happen: they’re close friends and the other would pitch a fit. Lebron would have to sleep with Gab Union before there’s any chance of either guy leaving.
The said, from a on-court strategic standpoint, Howard alongside Bosh and whichever of the Big 2 is left makes more sense then Bosh and the Big 2. Having different types of truly dominant players just makes a whole lot of sense. If I were team-building in a video game I’d trade Howard for Wade or Lebron in a heartbeat
As for the dreams of Dalembert, etc., how would Riley afford that? No cap space now, and you know the new CBA won’t improve that. They have three choices in acquisitions: veteran minimums, 2nd rounder/rookie FAs, or trading Bosh or Anthony.
