Who the heat starting center should be....
I thought Pittman would get a shot but he missed a wide open dunk when given minutes vs the c's.
Therefore the heat should trade Joel Anthony for the kings' Jason Thompson.
Look being undersized is bad enough but he ain't Perkins, He is averaging 3ppg & 3rbs per game.
Sure he has his moments when he gets 5+ rebounds but most of the time he can't even score.
He is too small, and as much as I respect his hustle to have him starting center in the playoffs again is laughable.
Therefore trade Joel Anthony for Jason Thompson....Kings get a shot blocking center, while the heat get a young center with length who can put up 10ppg & 8rbs per game with starters minutes. Thompson in Sacramento is wasting his talent!

If SAC would do that
Than, please Pat, do it.
Montee Ball didn't win the Heisman. F__ everybody.
Tajh Boyd and Dre' Ellington are the future.
I see no reason for Sac to make this trade...
Most would agree that Thompson is clearly the better player, so how can you expect Sac to accept Thompson for Anthony straight up? However, if Pat can somehow figure out a way to get a young center like Thompson, of course I would support the move (as long as we do not have to give up Norris Cole)…

Also, I would really like to see us add Joel Przybilla...
He is a good defender, shot blocker, he sets good screens, and he is a great rebounder. Plus, the only thing we would have to do to get him is waive Gladness. I think we could win a Championship with both Joels manning the 5…

Agree
Joel Pryzbilla wouldn’t be bad @ all.
Likely Juwan Howard would be waived to make room for Pryzbilla.
As for getting Thompson, no way Cole will be traded but perhaps Terrell Harris would be added with Anthony or a future 2nd round pick.
.Heat Tri-nasty is inevitable!
Saw your post about this on some other post and I've been fascinated ever since.
Someone should get Pat’s phone number and text him to do this. I like it. Also like the idea of Pryz. Since we already have the Big 3, a pretty good bench in UD, JJ and Shane, an on-the-rise rookie in Cole (I love that dude) and IMO a pretty championship-starter worthy PG in Rio, we don’t really need an above average Center. Pryz is average enough to cover up our big hole in the middle.
OH! Those are really cool! (OH! Those are really cool!)

Demarcus Cousins just demanded a trade
Maybe we can go after him…
Miami's Superstars: Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Mike Pouncey, Karlos Dansby, Cameron Wake, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith (just wait), Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Stanton, Gaby Sanchez, Hanley Ramirez, Josh Johnson, Heath Bell, Mark Buehrle, Jose Reyes, Tomas Fleischmann, Stephen Weiss, Jose Theodore, and Chris Versteeg. :)
That's what I saw just now.
And I came to this exact same thread to say that. (HIGH FIVE!) If they really don’t want Cousins anymore (I heard he’s been asked to stay away from the team) I think we have a better chance of getting him than JT. And although he does have a few flaws when it comes to personality, all we have to do is give him starter minutes and he’ll deliver. He says he doesn’t like the direction that the team is headed for and if he does somehow end up here, at least we can be sure that he’d like the Heat’s direction, which is going straight to the Finals.

We have absolutely nothing to trade for a potentially dominant 21 year old interior scorer...
If you want something good, you have to give something good for it. We have no pieces that other teams value. On another note, If i’m the Wizards, i’m calling up SAC and offering JeVale Mcgee and another piece for him. I like the idea of pairing Cousin and Wall together again…

I hate you all lol
The Heat will never trade Joel Anthony
Once you gain Riley’s respect you have it for life, ask Askins and Spo. I wish we could watch a game together so i could point out every little thing he does to help us win. He causes at least 4 turnovers a game but never gets the steal, just by rotating and deflecting passes. He is the main reason there have been so many fast break ally oops this year. Joel Anthony is a valuable piece to our rotation.
Joel Pryzbilla and Curry, wow how did a big lumbering center do for us last year. We can win and dominate with Anthony. I liked the Curry pick up only bc i knew he wasnt going to take any of Joels minutes. The only center that was available that i wanted was Chandler, we could of gone undefeated if Pat pulled that off, I love roster just the way it is. dont worry once J Howard gets his ring he’ll retire and Pittman and Gladness can get some minutes next year.
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!
Joel Anthony is the man
do YOU believe in TEBOW
There's nothing wrong with him being in the rotation
But he shouldn’t be starting, he should be 8th or 9th man getting 8-12 mins per game. But the fact that he’s starting shows how badly we need a center. Joel has gotten slightly better on offense, but it’s still 4.5 on 5 out there.
He’s solid on defense and the boards, but it just doesn’t make up for his lack of offense. And don’t forget he’s undersized, which shows when he tries to guard D Howard (he just fouls him).

Tajh Boyd and Dre' Ellington are the future. Don't count out Sammy Watkins.

Well i dont know how to break it to all of you guys
Joel is here to stay! I don’t understand how people want to keep adding players with NO CAP SPACE. Curry was the best big man we could pick up for the min, and his contract isnt even guaranteed. We are not in the 80’s and 90’s when centers dominated the league. Hakeem, Zo, Robinson, Shaq, even Rik Smitt would be the 2nd best center today lol. Yea he cant stop Dwight Howard but NOBODY can
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!

Yup
Love how Pittman got some minutes to showcase what he can do.
In 7 minutes he got 4 points, 1 rebound & a block.
Imagine if he were a starter say 27mpg?
That’s 10ppg & 8 rpg with 3 blocks.
I like giving Pittman a chance as starter.
Yea I would love to get Cousins on the heat also.
.Heat Tri-nasty is inevitable!
i want Pittman to get some minutes
But he had last year and the off season, to trim some weight. We all know how Riley feels about conditioning , and he is still over weight? He would be an defensive liability and our run and dunk would slow down
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!

the pryzbilla signing is probably the best chance
since he supposedly is looking to play again as a backup, and he would probably sign for the minimum to play on a contender.
The jason thompson trade idea makes no sense. Jason Thompson at best is a great role player for them, and at worse is a valuable trade piece. In terms of the latter, trading him for Joel anthony helps the kings in no way whatsoever….the main post pretty much craps on the joel anthony the player and then somehow tries to spin that sacramento would want him….if hes such a great shot blocker why would the heat, who are defensively dominant on the wings, not want that shot blocker as the icing to their stifling defense?
The Demarcus cousins idea is very similar, the kings have no real incentive to trade him no matter how deplorable he is to the team because he is a valuable asset which they would like to get the max out of in terms of trade.
In any trade for someones valuable role player the heat are at a loss, they dont have good enough individual players that other teams would want, and their draft picks for at least the next 6 years are gonna be pretty crappy (like 27 or higher). Also, i dont think any team in the league wants to go out of their way to make the heat any better than they already are…other teams wanna win championships too sometime this decade…and giving the heat a viable center kills the leagues chances even more.
The heat have to look for waiver wires and nba free agents who might play for the minimum in order to fill their roster. the mini mle will also help.
I think in terms of your next center, you should bite the bullet and start bosh at center. Cole/wade/lebron/battier/bosh is a very awesome lineup. It might also force bosh to continue to play big/strong in the paint since hes gonna body up against some big guys. When going against the likes of howard, you might just wanna throw tons of bigs at him to make up for the lack of a true big man center.
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

I agree with this 100%...
I think a lot of times when people suggest trades they only look at it from the Heat’s point of view. They dont realize that we do not have a single piece another team would value in a trade (other than the Big 3, and maybe Norris Cole). Which is exactly why I brought up Pryzbilla, because he is a good player and it is a realistic move…

yea i think the only caveat with pryz is the fact that
every team looking for a bigman (backup or otherwise) is reaching out to pryz (yes…this includes the bulls). So it comes down to what pryz wants. A team with capspace, like charlotte can offer a lot of money to pryz as well a ton of minutes, however they arent really competing. The bulls and heat are two contenders which might pique pryz’s interest if hes in ring chasing mode…which i believe he probably is at his age. The bulls wont really guarantee him minutes, but pryz resides in milwaukee which is close to chicago so if he wants to stay close to his family and home he might sign with chicago. However, miami probably could make him a bigger name, as well as give him more playing time as a regular, and i would imagine that most players would like to not just sign with a contender, but be remembered for their major contribution to that team, and pryz could do that with miami.
Thats only 3 teams, but im sure there are a lot more teams interested in pryz mainly because he is a pretty solid, professional, big man, in a league where such are very rare commodities. So it will be interesting to see who ends up getting him.
Ill also mention this, i utterly utterly despise demarcus cousins. He has potential, but he has not yet realized it at all, and he pretty much comes off as a jerk of jerks. He is a cancer, is over rated, and makes lebron look like a humble man….. and i hope the heat get him ;p

Not a chance of hell of the OP’s idea happening now that Demarcus is acting up…

I've admired Thompson from a far for a few years now
I got to see his consistency when he was on my fantasy team a couple of years ago. He’s definitely a nice player—in fact he does essentially what Chris Bosh does at a much cheaper price tag—but he is not a center. In theory, I love the idea of upgrading the center position, but it’s not all that necessary when Bron and Wade have committed to posting up and hitting the boards. Especially if the team continues to play the type of team defense they’ve been playing of late. As for Curry, it probably turns out to be little more than an opportunity for him to prove he can still play—if he can still play. What most would say we need out of a center is size, height, shot blocking, and rebounding. Curry comes through on height and size, but his career bests in rebounds and blocks are 7 and 1.1, respectively.
