Mark Cuban's dirty dealing?
Dan Gilbert was the most publicized owner that desired to have the Chris Paul deal vetoed which would have brought Lamar Odom to New Orleans. Mark Cuban also supported blocking the trade. Now, two days later it looks like the Mavs have worked out a deal to bring Odom to Dallas. To me, at best Cuban was simply opportunistic in jumping on Odom's availability and at worst he vetoed the trade hoping to get Odom. This type of deal sets a horrible precedent. IMO Does anyone else find this disturbing?

We have to remember that the league owns the NOH so its technically 1/29th Cuban’s
Just the same, if the Lakers get Dwight Howard, the trade which Stern nixed might go down as the most controversial in NBA history
Also we have to remember at the time of the proposed CP3 to LA trade, Chandler wasn’t a Knick yet so the Mavs didn’t have that nice traded player exception, which they flipped for Odom
Cuban did not veto the trade, he has no power to do that...
Stern vetoed the trade and Cuban simply benefited from it.

I must have misinterpretted the stories
I thought that the NBA owners had a vote, but I’ll take your word for it.
Nonetheless, Cuban did publicly support the leagues decision to block the trade. The reasoning was supposedly to protect small market teams but IMO that trade would have benefited the NOH.
Paul isn’t going to resign and they would’ve landed a nice package for him.
I just found the whole thing to be very disingenuous on Cuban’s part when he claims that he’s looking out for the other team’s interests and then 48 hours later he’s working out a deal for one of the bigger names involved in the deal.
he didnt say anything about looking out for the teams interest
he even said “give me chris paul in a heartbeat” the only reason he agreed with the block was because of all the talk in the cba meetings to prevent all this. Still, im pretty sure thats not even genuine since cuban is vying for a spot to win dwight howard. Also theres no vote, a couple of owners voiced their concerns, stern listened, but the public statement suggested that stern acted on his own without the rest of the leagues permission. Lamar Odom needed to be traded after that whole fiasco, he was being a baby and not wanting to report to camp, so he was traded.
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

I didn't realize that the owner's didn't have a vote with the original post

“There’s a reason that we went through this lockout, and one of the reasons is to give small-market teams the ability to keep their stars and the ability to compete.”
That is Mark Cuban pretending to be looking out for another team’s best interest. I just plain don’t believe the guy.
