Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, newest members of the Miami Heat!

I just finished watching Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on ESPN.  How sick was that, South Florida??  Seeing not only our beloved D-Wade but Bosh as well looking so happy and excited about teaming up and competing for a championship in Miami was something we have been waiting to hear for well over a week now.

Dwyane gave Chicago a teary-eyed goodbye at the beginning of the interview, hopefully allowing them to at least understand his position.  However he later did say that it came down to he and Bosh wanting to play together, and that Bosh wanted to do it in Miami.  So...THANK YOU Chris Bosh!

Or should we say, thank you Pat Riley for letting Bosh know how much he was wanted down here for the last couple years.  It's been pretty well known that Riley has been pushing to get Bosh to Miami, and obviously this summer was his best shot.  And he delivered.  Say it with me...In Pat We Trust!

Star-divide

Apparently Bosh really wanted to come down here, too.  He basically said, contrast to many reports this week, that he didn't care about the money element.  6-years, 5-years...didn't matter.  He wanted to play with Wade and compete every year for a title.  Dwyane even said:

"This situation is about winning.  This is not a money situation. I'm not opposed to taking less money then that max number.  Whatever it takes to build a champion here in Miami.  That's what me, and of course as you see that's what Chris is doing also."

Bosh went on to say:

"I expect us to compete for a championship.  I think Dwyane said it earlier, we're ready to sacrifice a lot of things to do that.  It's not about the money, it's not about anything else except for winning."

How amazing is that to hear?  How many athletes come out and say that, even if they are willing to do it?  Nobody just puts their cards on the table like that.  It's truly amazing and I couldn't be happier that we get to in enjoy it down here in Miami.

They said that the decision was made on Tuesday for the pair to team up in Miami, explaining Bosh's ‘Today is a GREAT day" tweet.

The speculation about LeBron is still going crazy.  People are analyzing the facial expressions of Wade and Bosh when talking about James during their meeting.  ‘Wade smiled when he said LeBron...he's coming!!'.  Stuff like that.  BUT...Mike Wallace tweeted out that LeBron may be coming to Miami to have dinner with Dwyane and Chris tonight.

Last thing on the interview...Wade threw in his endorsement for Erik Spoelstra, saying ‘he is the coach 100%, no questions about it'.  He acknowledged Riley's comments about returning to the bench, but then said that he wanted to help Spo become the ‘next Pat Riley, the next Lenny Wilkins'.  And if that doesn't happen, we all know Pat will have no problem stepping in mid-season.

Literally a minute before the interview, Dwyane sent out a tweet to all his followers: ‘@dwadeofficial Miami-Wade County. Thank you.'  That's enough right there, but he wasn't done getting back into communication with Heat fans.  Shortly after he was finished on ESPN, he sent out a video on his Facebook pageYou can watch it on youtube here. It starts with Wade saying "I'm back" with a big smile on his face.  I'll let you check out the rest.

Soak it in, South Florida...and Heat fans all over.  This is a great day, one that many of us will never forget.  The beginning of the Heat Dynasty.

Sidetrack a lil

Let’s say LeBron decides to sign somewhere else and we keep Beasley.
I know some of you may dislike him this and that… but I’d seriously want to give him another year to try out.
I just want to ask if it’s possible for Beasley to develop into the Lamarcus Aldridge kind of player? Lamarcus averaged 17.9pts and 8 rbs last season. I just like the fact that Aldridge was able to be consistent despite having a star like Roy at his side.
What do you guys think?
hopefully Beasley will not disappoint us should we retain him. If Beasley performs then we’d already have our Big 3 in Wade, Bosh and him isn’t it?

No doubt Beasley will be good someday

but his play and lack of ‘getting better’ during the season has had me worried. Still, he should/would definitely flourish with Wade/Bosh/another good player along side him

Hmmm

But wouldn’t that reduce his playing time and might hinder his growth? I mean that’s exactly why we moved him into the starting lineup this year to allow him to play more.

by Keiya992 on Jul 7, 2010 4:50 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think the amount of minutes helped his production. He needs to hone his skill set in the NBA before playing a 30 min a game instead of learning on the fly. This isn’t the smartest guy that we’re dealing with here, keep that in mind. I think playing 15-20 min a game and learning from Bosh will be great for him…but that’s if he ends up staying

Hmm

I think the nets owner got it right…
He believed Wade and Bosh would play in Miami.
So did I.
Now then I think Joe Johnson should have waited a bit longer so he could sign with us, but he is all about money and not rings.
So screw him.
Wade and Bosh however I can see a heat dynasty being born.
Now then to fill the roster.
At point guard: Raymond Felton, at small forward: Mike Miller and at center:Haywood
I mean come on With Bosh now teaming with Wade it would be silly for these free agents not to want to join the heat now.
I am anxious about how this team will be further revamped over the next few days.
Am gonna update my roster for both nba live and 2k10 and put Bosh on the roster now!
Let’s go heat!
Heat dynasty is fate cant wait!

Updating NBA Live and 2K10 now?
I had faith and have had Bosh running the high pick and roll with Wade in the last 3 years of my 2K10 franchise :)

…mind you I also have Rudy Gay after a Beasley sign and trade :(

Hmm

Boozer to the bulls?
Seems as though every team improved who should improve but the cavs lol
Bron surely is gone to the knicks now.
His ego is 2 huge to accept to be the # 2 option on a team like Miami.
He wont win a ring, titleless talent like Lehype James.

by thedeeofdees on Jul 7, 2010 6:16 PM EDT reply actions

Boozer to the Bulls is a good move for them.
I think it does mean that Lebron is staying in Cleveland. Why would you flaunt the fact that you are leaving on national TV? He would be crucified in Cleveland. Having the hour long special means he can spend an hour saying how much he loves Cleveland and he can try and repair his relationship there.

The NY and NJ rumours will just be his peeps trying to throw up smokescreens for “The Decision” (ego much…) on ESPN.

If he was coming to Miami the proper thing to do would have been to announce it together with Wade and Bosh.

Looks like it will be NY and Miami with Orlando waiting in the wings for the next several years. The rivalry is back!!

Will be an even better rivalry if NY land Monta Ellis in a David Lee sign and trade as is rumoured.
Ellis + Amare against Wade + Bosh would be fun to watch…even though our duo trumps theirs :)

Last I read, Ellis was staying in GS and Randolph was going to NY…whick makes no sense except D’Antoni likes to play small so he could move Amare to the 5 and play Randolph at the 4.

Wonder what this extra 2 mil in cap space will do for the Heat?

Hmm

Beasley cannot function in a defensive system.
Same way Shawn Marion could not work out.
He needs an uptempo wild style of play.
Like the suns, warriors, clippers, knicks.
Even the raptors could use Beasley.

by thedeeofdees on Jul 7, 2010 9:36 PM EDT reply actions

Agree

I don’t think Beasley fits and that we need to trade him. A surprise team that I think could be interested in him is the Wizards. Getting rid of his salary enables the Heat to either sign Lebron (an idea that I am not crazy about), or sign a few role players. The 17 mil for Lebron, in my opinion would be better served going toward UD, Haywood, and Korver. Beasley has potential but he offers nothing on the defensive end, and I do not think it is vital to have an offensive backup pf with Bosh in the fold.

by #1Heatfan on Jul 7, 2010 9:46 PM EDT up reply actions

I like Beasley and really like his potential but he does fill the same role as Bosh. I would like to see him with some of those uptempo offensive teams mentioned. Beasley for Andris Biedrins would be good for both teams…

I am really getting worried about the Lebron to Miami rumours – please don’t ruin the Bosh Wade duo by making it a Lebron threesome…

I’m not positive, but I believe Andris Biedrins makes 10 mil per season, so that would kill almost all of our remaining cap space. He would be a good fit though.

Only issue with that is Haywood’s age – at 30 he will be looking for his last chance at a decent payday…

LeBron

Just read on realgm.com that multiple sources confirm that Lebron will join Wade and Bosh in Miami. But you can’t really trust anything these days. I was hoping Lebron would stay with the cavs but will not complain about getting, arguably, the top player on the planet.

by #1Heatfan on Jul 8, 2010 1:19 AM EDT reply actions

I’ll take Wade over Lebron anyday… regardless his talent is welcome – it’s the rest of his #$% that isn’t…

I agree

Wade has proven he is a winner and a leader in this league. In my opinion LeBron hasn’t proven anything and won’t until he wins a title. However, if he wins with this “Miami Thrice” most people will not think very highly of it.

by #1Heatfan on Jul 8, 2010 9:49 AM EDT up reply actions

He will then be subjected to the same probs Kobe faced before winning a title without Shaq…
All in all it adds up to a diluted legacy for Lebron and I don’t believe his ego would allow it…

Not the Dirk I wanted but (arguably) better.

Now it’s for us to reel in James so we can end further debates about which team is the best in the East.
