Eddie House to sign with Heat
Welcome back, Eddie House! The news and the roster just keep getting better and better. House's agent confirmed that the former Heat fan favorite will be signing a 2-year contract in which the 2nd year is the player's option. He will sign for the veterans minimum at $1.4 million and I think we can add him to the list of guys taking less money to play in Miami.
Eddie earned $2.8 million last season and I'm sure there are several teams out there that would've happily paid him more then the 'vet min'. The contact that House signed is very similar to the contract signed by Zydrunas Ilgauskas a couple weeks ago.
House is another guy that is just perfect for this Heat team. A very dangerous threat from downtown who is also energetic and quick, House will likely be getting more open looks this season then any other year in his career. Since leaving the Heat in 2003 he has bounced around the league, playing on 8 different teams before finally finding he was back to Miami.
Eddie is a career 41% shooter from the field and a 39% shooter from beyond the arc. 2 years ago in Boston he shot 44% from both the field and from downtown; I think he may be able to improve on that this season...

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
I will always cheer for Miami unless they are playing WHEN Jason Williams is in for another team. Too bad I can not have my cake and eat it too.
Good luck Miami – even though it is not needed. I’ll be popping in and out until Williams is landed.
On the upside – I am looking to sell my Heat season tickets due to an unexpected move North West. Hit me up here and I’ll respond accordingly.

Hey "purple and gold"
Read my posts more carefully. I have been a fan of the Heat since you were in diapers son.
I am a fan of the game – meaning all those parts that go into making a perfect team built upon chemistry = Miami Heat if I had to place a bet. Hell, I have EIGHT season tickets to the Heat games – how’s that for supporting a team.
Let me give my love to J Will (who brought the Heat a championship as part of the starting backcourt in 06, in case you were just learning to read at that age).
Stick to your “Purple and Gold” and leave the Heat fans alone.

be interested in the tickets… how much? and where are the seats located? Message me if u feel more comfortable that way
They're in Section 117, Row 3 - four tickets and Row 4 - four tickets. They are nice seats I have had since 2005.
I am getting rid of both sets (at the cost of breaking my heart not getting to see this team tear it up) as 2 individual sets. Each ticket for the season is $2500, so $10K a section.
Message me if you are interested and I can show you the details and swap info. Thanks, and GO HEAT!!!!

wait
are you moving north west… to orlando… to watch j will… because the heat signed eddie house?
Hell no man, if that was the case - I'd just keep my Heat tickets.
I am moving North West as in Oregon for a business opportunity for the next 3 years. I hope they have NBA coverage up there!

Haha cool
Oregon is amazing. Not in the way that Miami is amazing obviously, but it’s great. I’ll look for your 2006 J Wills jersey in the crowd at the next Heat/Trailblazers game.
speaking of miami jerseys...
you guys see the dude wearing the LeBron Heat jersey at the Indians game last night?
you’ll like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEArNnkHcAc
There’s more youtube of him being escorted out through the concessions.
I've got a connection up there that wants to trade tickets once or twice,
so if I can get his Trailblazers tickets for one of those games, you can bet I’ll be as close as possbile wearing the Ole’ #55 in black baby!!!!
I’ll be back – home is where Vice was made!

Well, it was well stated previously:
J Will is a ball handler and passer, while his shooting is always hot or cold. If Pat was worried about ball control, J Will would have been the right fit for him. But I promise you when House is continuing to show that he has lost his shot, and D Wade has a few too many TO’s while in to handle the ball – Riley will be wishing the secure hands of J Will were on the floor.

I want the tickets
I am really interested in the tickets maybe all of them. Let me know how we can coordinate this.
Thanks
Armando
Good lord stop it Pat Riley... just stop it! It's too much, the roster is too good for you to keep adding great veterans for the minimum. You have to at least give the other teams in the league at least a fighting chance...
The Miami Heat signed Eddie House to a 2 yr contract (2nd yr a player option) for $2.8 million http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5420096
While he might not have ball handling skills of a point guard he has shown the ability to be a great floor spacer for the championship Boston Celtics when they used to have a Big 3 of their own. No reason he can’t do the same for us. Just make sure Eddie to not let guys do this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azBlRCGhdd4 ) to you anymore ok?
So now the Roster:
PG – Chalmers / Arroyo / House
SG – Wade / Miller / House
SF – LeBron / James Jones / Miller
PF – Bosh / Udonis / Howard / Randolph
C – Joel / Z / Magloire
Looks pretty damn stacked to me!
So much for the idiotic haters who said there was NO WAY Miami could build a championship roster this year with 3 max guys and minimum guys surrounding them but you sure don’t hear them anymore do you?
OMG CAN'T believe it
I didn’t realized it first – am I on the C’s Blog or on the Heat’s one – now I’m stunned Oo I’m from germany and I was always a Celtics-Fan since 2007 and Eddie was a part of it – he’s one of the best shooters I’ve seen in the league and now he goes to Miami – great now I’m nearly 50/50 with the Celts and the Heat – I hope they don’t meat again next year in the playoffs – my heart would be split ^^
Wow
Eddie House fits incredibly well. Really nicely done, Pat.
sweet deal

Wow, eddie house really is an extremely good pick up for you guys. in 2008, he was a notorious laker killer in the playoffs.
He was however traded last year because it seemed like he had lost his shot. His whole career he has been a good 3pt shooter, so who knows if last year was just an outlier, or is just the start of his downward decline. Nonetheless, if you get the Eddie House of ’08, he will fit in extremely well.
In Kobe we trust!
very nice!
although many of us would have preferred jason williams, house is a great signing. it does show, i think, where riley believes the team needs help – outside shooting. if ball handling and floor generalship were the main concern, williams would have made more sense. but it would appear that pat’s not worried about this given wade and james are both very capable of taking the point. if eddie’s shot is off again this year (as it was last year) he will not help us much as his defensive prowess has declined since we last had him.
1+3+6=5 rings
Hmm
Another knock down shooter returns to Miami!
Yes!
I guess Shavlik Randolph will be waived.
Welcome back Eddie!
Miami Thrice....Heat Tri-nasty is inevitable!
Awesome signing – more help to spread the floor and give us some fire and swagger off of the bench.
Looks like Shavlik or Hasbrouck may spend some time in the D-League…

Now thats wuzup Pat
I’m loving all the moves you have did this offseason Riley. You where the man before all this and when we win 1,2,3,4,5,6 championships anything more than that will be a plus for me. So when we win all these championships Pat Riley will be a God in my eye atleast!!!!! He created this team, put good role players around this team and for that I love you for it. So for that being said In Pat We Trust!!! Thank You Pat
Wowzers
Completely forgot about Eddie House. Another great addition to spread the floor. I want my damn championship already.

Man, sorry to say this, but I think it is time to give up the dream
I would have loved to bring J Will back too, but Pat thought House was a better fit. Who am I to second guess him. In Pat We Trust.
Heat need to get another good perimeter defender
They should go after Keith Bogans. He can shoot the 3 also. They need to get another perimeter defender to go up against teams with great shooting guards like Kobe.

They do – you are able to take 15 guaranteed contracts into training camp – The Heat now have 14 guaranteed contracts with Eddie House. Shavlik Randolph and Kenny Hasbrouck have non-guaranteed contracts and will be attending training camp as well to possibly fight for the 15th spot.
