James Jones to resign with Miami
James Jones is coming back and ready to take on whatever role the Heat have for him. Jones told members of the media on Sunday that he, like many before him, will be taking less money to play in Miami. The Heat had no assurances for Jones as far as playing time goes, but he didn't care. Said Jones:
"I still feel I have unfinished business here. The opportunity to win a championship was too much to pass up. Hopefully, the minutes will be there and I will make teams pay.''
J-J will make $1 million next year, the vet minimum, but he'll also receive the $1.5 million buyout that the Heat owe him.

wow!
the job riley has done thus far in rounding out the roster has been stellar! just a couple spots left. if jason williams is among them it will be a championship year. can we win with rio/arroyo at the point? sure. why not. but with williams we would be pretty much unstoppable. and what about juwan howard? matt barnes? the summer leage guys (some of whom played pretty well…)? all this excitement in july! crazy!
1+3+6=5 rings
giggedy
All thats left is PG
Wanna prove you are a true heatfan? Remind people you lived through the Mark Blount era

No Arroyo he is like Chad Pennington, a very good player who doesn't make mistakes. But he doesn't give you the big plays like Chad Henne (We hope). That is what J Will can do
With J Will no one has as many great playmakers as us. Wade, Lebron, and J Will. Not to mention that Bosh is a playmaker out of the post.
Man didn't we agree
that I didn’t want Dolphins talk to me! hahha
Imma Jets fan my man. But we are brothers when it comes to basketball

No way bro.
The o-line sucks. Plus Romo has the least INT’s by a QB last year.

it's amazing how guys are lining up to sign with this team, sacrificing tons of money
and there is a chance they will never play, great to see this, i guess there is hope for today’s athletes lol…James could be a help to us, on the second unit, hitting the open 3…who will be the last signing? i’m hoping J-Will

This doesn't really matter, he is probably going to have the same role a last year.
Good for depth though
Amazing...

Hmm
starters: Chalmers,Wade,Lebron,Bosh,Magloire
bench:Jason Williams,Mike Miller,James Jones,Haslem,Z,Joel Anthony,Hasbrouck
reserves:Pittman,Juwan Howard,Beverley
Two man deep roster with defense/offense oriented, size and scoring off the bench.
Good depth at every spot.
We should have 4 pgs,2 sgs,2,sfs,4 centers,3 pfs
Miller/Jones duo off the bench is a nightmare for opposing teams.
That’s two 6’ 8 guys that stretch the defense for you,Jones is also a gritty defender and Miller rebounds well and can handle the ball.
miller and UD will switch off as 6th and 7th man (depending on the situation)
i think…wow we are going to have a BIG team, something we typically don’t have…i’m excited to see a pure scoring lineup with LBJ at 1, DW at 2, MM at 3, CB at 4, and Z at 5 or DW 1, MM/JJ 2/3, LBJ 4, CB 5 (even though he said he doesn’t wanna play the 5, but this won’t be a common lineup, so it ok every once in a while)…i really like this lineup

yea all those guys can play multiple positions
it’s sick, and they can all score from anywhere on the court…omg i am getting so jittery thinking of all the possibilities we can do…i have hundreds of different possibilities running through my head, this is going to be a fun year, hopefully decade or close to it, to watch

I would almost like the HEAT to just start the monster lineup of...
1. Wade 2. Miller 3. Lebron 4. Bosh 5. Igloo …
…just to flat out have the attitude every game of we are going to kill you, from the “get go.”
Seriously, I know that goes against tradition (no “pure” pg, not bringing a little scoring off of the bench like Miller)…
…but it’d just be nice to see the HEAT show that “shock and awe” attitude right away, let teams know in the first 5 minutes, you have absolutely no shot, we physically dominate you in every we
I’m looking forward to seeing how this team comes together, especially the 1st 10 games of the season…I think the world is going to see some of the most epic blowouts we’ve seen in some time…
I sorta wanna see what games we lose.
LeBron won’t be the finisher. We all know Wade closes our games out and he still will most likely. But I don’t see us losing more than 10 games…which is scary for other teams.
"Not 2, Not 3, Not 4, Not 5, Not 6, Not 7, and when I say that really believe. I'm about business and I believe we can win multiple championships" - LeBron James
I kinda hope we face some adversity at the beginning of the season
Like when we won the finals, there was some adversity that ended up bringing the team together. “15 strong”. I really don’t care how many regular season games we win (70 would be cool though) as long as we win when it counts
I agree

i don't see many games closer than 10-15pts lol, let alone losing
the only games that could be close, 10pts or less, is LAL, ORL, CHI, and BOS….maybe…

If you look at the Bulls losses during their 72win season – the games they lost were when both MJ and Pippen struggled offensively and someone on the opposing team lit it up…
I think it will take good execution from an opposing team to beat us – with that said there are solid teams around capable of doing it during the regular season (Magic, Celtics, Lakers, Thunder, Nuggets, Mavs, Jazz, Bulls) – whether they can do it during a playoff series is altogether different.
"Great effort springs naturally from great attitude" - Pat Riley
"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships" - Michael Jordan
true
but even if 2 of the guys are struggling, the 3rd star would pick it up and so will the other guys…maybe 1 or 2 or 4 games will all 3 struggle severely, and even then their defense won’t, just their offense…i’m thinking the only games we may lose is if we decide to rest them at the end of the year…and maybe a couple fluke games, but never because we got outplayed

You sure?
LeBron attacks the basket better and is a better jumpshooter right now…
I think he’ll close out most games 2-3 years from now.
by agradecimiento a dios on Jul 19, 2010 11:20 PM EDT up reply actions
Lebron attacks the basket to draw fouls – Wade attacks to make the shot in my opinion, Wade seems to adjust better in the air – possibly because he doesn’t have the size of Lebron to bulldoze his way in.
Mid range and outside they are pretty equal – Would be fantastic if Lebron developed a post game though as it is a major weakness considering his size/strength advantage over other small forwards.
Both can hit game winners but Wade adjusts better in the 4th quarter I believe – Lebron relied too much on isolations when he was in Cleveland – he needs to start catching the ball from somewhere other than the wing 3pt line, like the high post.
"Great effort springs naturally from great attitude" - Pat Riley
"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships" - Michael Jordan
I may be bias, but I think Wade is the second best clutch player behind only Kobe
I rather put my trust in Wade than LeBron
Absolutely – talk in the media of “who” will take the last shot is a bit silly though. Previously the opposing team knew that Wade and Lebron were taking the last shot. Now we can mix it up – who do they run their defence at?
We have so much flexibility with both these guys on board…
"Great effort springs naturally from great attitude" - Pat Riley
"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships" - Michael Jordan
yea and i think spo is more willing to experiment and have a more non-traditional lineup
than riles would…but yea that starting lineup is beastly…boy i would be shitting my pants if i was the rest of the league…miller and LBJ could switch off between the 2&3, depending on who they going against…we have to average 110+ ppg

I'm hoping the Heat rest a little in the regular season actually.
34-36 minutes a game. Keep playing at the end of the year a little so they don’t get rusty.
Then unload on the league later. Basically the bare minimum to clinch homecourt and then not get rusty at the end of the year.
