2010 NBA Draft: Open Forum

After trading away their 1st round pick yesterday in the Daequan Cook deal, the Heat won't be on the clock tonight until the 2nd round.  I'm certain that this is exactly what Pat Riley wanted because 1st round picks are guaranteed money and 2nd round picks are not.  That being the case, Miami is in a very good situation because they still have four picks in the 2nd round and several months to evaluate those players before deciding whether or not to pay them.

The 2010 NBA Draft will begin at 7pm from Madison Square Garden. The Heat hold picks 32, 41, 42 and 48.  Use this post as your place to chat and comment about what is going on with the draft.

what do you guys think...

about the washington wizards and chicago bulls deal with hinrich? Do you think it’s gonna be a big threat against the guy we’re trying to sign (lebron, bosh, jj, etc.)?

I mean, i think it will become a choice between, do you want to sign and play with derrick rose and joakim noah…. or do you wanna play with dwade?

let’s hope we can get a trade for james jones, beasley and/or chalmers and free up more money haha

I dont understand why Washington would do it

What are they going to do with 3 PG’s now?

Go big or go home

That Chicago trade is BAD NEWS.

The Heat are going to wind up getting the crappy maxes — Amare and JJ. No Bosh, no LeBron. Chicago just trumped us.

I hope I’m wrong.

Dexter Pittman?
I would’ve preferred Hassan Whiteside as a defensive presence at least…

Well

it was charitable for you guys to take Da’Sean Butler. I sincerely hope he works out, especially if you get all the max contract guys that they’re talking about on ESPN

i dont get our picks...

I don’t get any of our picks..

we don’t need a PF in vanardo… pittman is kinda.. eh, id rather have had whiteside or alabi. and da’sean butler’s health.. why didnt we take ebanks?

We could of had both Whiteside and Alabi in the hopes that one of them became the defensive center we need but passed on both… I hope Riley and co. got it right as I don’t understand why we need a PF over a C (Varnado over Alabi) – the wing players we added though could turn into great contributers…

Would’ve been better if Pittman = Whiteside and Williams = Alabi
Butler and Varnado are good picks in their own right.

Looking at Pittman

it looks like we drafted Eddy Curry 2.0. That could be very good or bad
