2010 Free agency: Operation HEAT Storm... getting Miami a TITLE!!!

These are some of the faces you might see in Miami next season... My picks would be Ridnour and Watson at the point. Morrow or Brown to back up Wade at the two. Outlaw and Rasual at the three spot. Gooden and Smith at the 4. And Haywood, Lee or Brown at the center spots. What say you!!!

PG: Luke Ridnour, C.J. Watson, Nate Robinson, Will Bynum, Earl Watson, T.J. Ford, J. J. Barea, Sebastian Telfair, Acie Law

SG: Joe Johnson, Anthony Morrow, Shannon Brown, Radja Bell

SF: LeBron James, Travis Outlaw, Tracy McGrady, Josh Howard, Rasual Butler, Marquis Daniels, Kelenna Azubuike, Jarvis Hayes

PF: Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Drew Gooden, Amare Stoudemire, Carl Landry, Tyrus Thomas, Craig Smith

C: Brendan Haywood, David Lee, Marcus Camby, Eddy Curry, Nazr Mohammed, Kwame Brown, Darko Milicic

Interesting list

So im just assuming in that scenario that you wanted were not going to sign any of the major free agents correct?

I would love to see the following (this is just an off the hip guess. I havent taken into account what salary would be needed for this):

PG: Ridnour and Watson
SG: Joe Johnson (assuming he dosent sign a max deal but if not joe johnson then Morrow and Brown)
SF: Outlaw and Azubuike
PF: Bosh (at a max deal) or Gooden and Carl Landry
C: Haywood or Lee

Check this out

The only MAX players I want coming to Miami is James honestly… not because I like his game, only how he could open the floor for Wade and Beasley. He creates more match-up problems than anyone else in the league.

Joe Johnson isn’t a MAX player to me… nor is Amare or Boozer… I’d be happy if Bosh was coming and committed to playing the CENTER spot but I don’t see that happening unless he adds about another 7 to 10 pounds of MUSCLE.

The Heat needs are as followed(in my opinion)

1. A penetrating point that can score at least 14 points 3 out of every 5 games.

2. A attacking SF… one with deep range to spread the floor for Wade and Beasley.

3. Players that can create their own offense off the bench… our biggest problem this season.

I’d be happy with O’Neal returning if he’d be willing to play for 8 to 9 million a year.
Richardson is a difficult one for me… great effort but we need to up-grade that spot.
Chalmers is the back-up next season… We need a Ridnour or CJ Watson… maybe even a Will Bynum.
Cook is one of my favorites but he needs to leave Miami and head to a team that’s gonna play him. He’s still young and has time to develope.
Dorrel should be brought back but he to can flurish esle where. He needs a wide open system.

I agree with you

While i do want James, i dont believe its going to happen. Bosh i want badly, but ONLY at the center position. I dont want to move Beasley to the 3 because he only creates mismatches at the 4.

I also agree Johnson, Amare, and Boozer are not MAX players. Im hoping that everyone also agrees Johnson is not a max player and we can sign him to a lesser deal (but still considerable) to play the 3. I dont know how ok i would be with JO returning and our starting guys on the blocks are JO and Beasley. They seem to cause enough problems right now down low on the defensive side that i think we need an upgrade there. Now dont get me wrong lately JO has been playing great (actually playing well all year) but i dont think he will keep it up for an extended period of time.
