So who's really to blame... we need a deeper look.
After 58 games into the season, one would figure that we'd have a understanding of who the Heat are as a club. I don't know about everyone else, but I have grown tired of hearing the same idiotic folks blaming all the problems on the supporting cast. Their comes a time when the COACH and the BEST PLAYER has to shoulder the bulk of the blame. There comes a time that the so called REPORTERS and ANALYST have to actually provide a more in-depth look at what are the true possibilities for this team not having a better record. It only took me all of 12 minutes to come to the conclusions that I have for the teams SO-CALLED struggles. After all, this is essentially the same team from last season minus one or two players. So if this club was basically a .500 club last season, what would lead folks to believe they'd be anything more... especially when the team STAR has 15+ bad games out of 27 loses that he's been apart of.
Why hasn't the supporting cast improved from a year ago???
To those of you who aren't knowledgeable enough to understand what's going on out on the floor, it would appear that this team isn't to good and that it's players haven't progressed from a year ago. Many of you are probably just idiotic folks that rely on individual stats to determine what it is that a player is doing. You'll probably see that Wade is averaging 26.1 points a game and say he's having a down year... never paying attention to the fact that he's playing nearly 3 less minutes per game from a year ago( a tribute to the play of his teammates, the club has 20+ wins of 7 or more points, they had just 20 all of last season).
Anyway, in 19 team related catagories, the Heat has improved their rankings in 13 from a year ago. Let's have a look.
(2008) vs (2009)
FG%: 14th vs 19th
OFG%: 13th vs 6th
Points Per game: 18th vs 26th
Opponents Per game: 12th vs 4th
Three Point Percentage: 22nd vs 16th
Opponents Per game: 28th vs 6th
FT%: 23rd vs 18th
OFT%: 18th vs 15th
Offensive Rebonds Per: 26th vs 17th
Defensive Rebounds Per: 21st vs 14th
Total Rebounds Per: 28th vs 17th
Opponents Per: 23rd vs 10th
Assist Per: 17th vs 19th
Opponents Per: 12th vs 2nd
Steal Per: 5th vs 12th
Blocks Per: 4th vs 3rd
Turnovers Per: 4th vs 3rd
Forced Turnovers: 6th vs 13th
So as one can see, a team that stayed basically the same has actually improved even though most say they haven't. What isn't being spoken is how the many bad games of Wade thus far this season has actually cost the team 5 to 8 wins. If not more. Remember, role players tend to follow the lead of their leaders.
You can't say the players aren't good enough when they consistently keep their team in games against the top teams(LAL, BOS, CLE, ORL, ATL and etc). Games that either the coach or the STAR of the team has failed to close. For whatever the reason.
Look, teams aren't guarding Wade any different than they were came the second half of last season. No one wasn't allowing him to go one on one. He faced 2 and 3 defenders at least 70% of the time... easily. So that shouldn't be a excuse. And neither should him not having enough help be. Beasley shouldn't ever be on the bench when this club is struggling to score points. If his defense isn't good enough to close out games, then it shouldn't be good enough to start off games either. The team needs to take the cuffs off this kid as well as Chalmers. The coaching staff is forcing this group to think more than play. You watch other young guys around the league make mistake after mistake and still be allowed to contribute to their teams success or failure.
It's seems that in a quest to keep Wade a happy camper, the Heat may very well be mortgaging it's future. No young guy is going to want to STAY or come play for the Heat if they think that they have to deal with a short leash from a AVERAGE basketball coach.

It's clear that you are knowledgeable about basketball, but...
Must you be so rude and call people “idiotic” all the time? I’m all for difference of opinion. I disagree with people here all the time, and I’m passionate about basketball but I still keep it respectful.
Playing, coaching, and watching basketball.
