LeBron James scores 36 as Heat take down Suns without D-Wade
This one didn't start out very good for the Heat. They seemed to be struggling without Dwyane Wade out there, missing a lot of offensive opportunities while allowing the Suns to score fairly easily. Phoenix enjoyed their largest lead at 21-10 with 4 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Erik Spoelstra called a timeout, but the only change he made was bringing in Mike Miller for James Jones.
Miami began turning things around at that time, finishing the quarter on a 9-1 run. It helped that the Suns missed the last 6 shots they took in the quarter. Miami would take their first lead about 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter and never look back. Mario Chalmers did a good job of pitching in off the bench, but it was LeBron James who finished the 1st half with a ridiculous dunk as the clock neared zero.
Chris Bosh and Carlos Arroyo carried the load thorough most of the 3rd quarter, keeping the Heat ahead and taking advantage of the Suns less-then-average defense. That was really the case for the entire 2nd half. Phoenix never really got close as Miami kept scoring every time the Suns tried making a run, getting those important buckets from all over the roster.
LeBron James had a pretty good night with D-Wade out of the lineup, finishing with 36 points on 13-of-22 shooting. He came up with 6 rebounds, 4 assists 3 steals and hit 2-of-5 from downtown though he battled foul trouble a bit throughout the game. He had 5 fouls when the game finished but thankfully they never really limited his minutes.
GAME NOTES
- A great night off the bench for Mario Chalmers. He scored 11 points and had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, a blocked shot and hit one triple.
- As a team, another poor night from beyond the arc for Miami, hitting 5-of-18 (27.8%).
- Erick Dampier was great off the bench. 2 points and 9 rebounds in just 13 minutes while providing his usual solid defense.
- After recording just 2 assists the last time these teams played, Steve Nash dished out 18 last night.
- Chris Bosh recorded a double double, finishing with 23 points and 11 boards.
- James Jones drew 3 charges tonight, bringing his season total up to 17. He needs to get some more appreciation for the job he does in the paint.
That's it....this is the last game before the most anticipated matchup of the season. Heat-Lakers. Saturday. Christmas. Ho Ho Ho...

Why have we been getting off to slow starts?
I think Big Z is hurting us at the start of games. Before he brought in miller he put anthony in with 6 min left. Anthony gets stops to help us run. I agree that he is best suited for the bench right now so maybe we should start Damp and see what happens
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!
Joel Anthony is the man
Henne please don't be good be Great
does anybody knows if wade is playing against the fakers
i think miami can beat the lakers but really will need wade.
He'll be back for sure. He badly wants this game that's why he missed Phoenix game.
Something to prove II
I am really looking forward to the Heat Lakers game.
It will be interesting to see how Miami plays against LAL’s size in the front court and how the Lakers match-up with the Heat’s speed and explosive guards.

Joel has cement hands
Joel Anthony can’t catch a ball to save his life. He gets into position only to have the ball jump from his hands. I can see Lebron getting a little frustrated at times before in the season and now he doesn’t even pass it to #50 because he knows Joel will drop it. Hope Pittman can come in and replace Joel as the second center.

Couldn't watch it live, but just finished watching.
Really solid game, we had the control entire game except 1st. Everybody did their job. Nice to see Miller got the score /looking for a three point field goal/.
Something to prove II
It was nice to see the Heat get their priorities right after a slow start.
After the timeout in the first, the Heat focused on playing defense first/rebounding and even pushing the ball for fast-break points. LeBron had three steals, Damp played really well on D and getting rebounds. Nice to see the team respond with Wade out and on the road—he should be back and ready to light the Lakers up.
There is a good article about the keys to the upcoming Christmas game on the SB LA blog, http://losangeles.sbnation.com/los-angeles-lakers/2010/12/23/1893020/lakers-vs-heat-christmas-day-keys-game-lebron-james-kobe-bryant-dwyane-wade-pau-gasol-chris-bosh
and if the Heat play solid D and get defensive boards—it will be tough because the Lakers really crash the boards—the Heat should have plenty of fast-break opportunities. I watched the recent Lakers vs Bucks game and saw some of this with the Bucks getting out and really pushing the ball.
"Real Harvey: [the real Harvey Pekar introduces his on-screen character] OK. This guy here, he's our man, all grown up and going nowhere. Although he's a pretty scholarly cat, he never got much of a formal education. For the most part, he's lived in s*** neighborhoods, held s*** jobs, and he's now knee-deep into a disastrous second marriage. So, if you're the kind of person looking for romance or escapism or some fantasy figure to save the day... guess what? You've got the wrong movie."

Really impressed all around with Bosh

Hmm
LbJ and Bosh held us down while Wade was out and did what they do.
Miller hopefully can get flow into his shooting.
Damp needs more minutes.
Z is disappointing these days.
Beat L.A,beat L.A!

Miami Thrice is incredible....Heat Tri-nasty is inevitable!
