The Heat head to Cali for a back-2-back

" I knew this team was small, but this is ridiculous!"

Hello Heat fans, and welcome to the 3rd game of the West Coast road trip. The Heat will enter the game with Golden State tonight 2-0 on this current road trip, and riding a 6 game winning streak overall. As you have noticed, the Heat have been playing much better lately. What ive noticed most is how Wade and LeBron are playing on the court together. With the PG's now taking up the ball, Wade and LeBron are able to stay out on the wings where they can do the most damage. As one of the superstars gets the ball, the other is finally learning to cut to the basket instead of standing in the corner just watching the play happen. I think that alone has been a big contributor to the Heats recent success. Dampier has been playing very well the last few games. It wont show up on the stat sheet, but his playing is helping clear out the middle.

The Heat will meet the Golden State Warriors tonight who are posting a 8-14 record overall, but are in a 1-10 stretch. The also lost Stephen Curry on Wednesday night in San Antonio due to a sprained ankle, and his status for tonights game is uncertain. We will get to see our old buddy Dorell Wright tonight who has been starting for the Warriors and scoring 14.9 points per game. He may have to pick it up tonight for them to have a chance if Curry does not play. The off-season acquisition of David Lee has not turned out like they have hoped. Although he is playing well for them, it hasnt translated into wins. I think this team could be much better than their record shows, but they need time playing together to figure things out.

Star-divide

*EDIT* - I just realized i left this out until i thought about the comments below. For those interested, tonights game will be on Sun Sports and ESPN. Just a tid-bit about the ESPN telecast tonight, Bill Simmons will be on. If anyone reads his columns or comments you know he is a huge Heat basher. I will probably watch ESPN to see what his comments will be. Should be an interesting thread tonight.

  • Wade, who had 28 points Wednesday, is averaging 34.4 points in his last five meetings with the Warriors.
  • The Warriors are mired in a 1-10 stretch that includes two season-high five-game losing streaks and a four-game slide at home. They haven't dropped five in a row at Oracle Arena since a six-game skid from March 1-24, 2002.
  • Curry, whose status is uncertain, is second on the team with 20.1 points per game behind Monta Ellis (24.5).
  • During the Heat's winning streak, their average margin of victory is 16.5 points.
  • orwards Mike Miller (thumb) and Udonis Haslem (foot) are out for the Heat, with center Dexter Pittman on a D-League assignment in Sioux Falls, S.D

Tipoff from ORACLE Arena is set for 10:30. The kid on Thunder's right is Steph Curry.

Anyway, I’m having a flashback of the time I dreamed about Wade, Wright and Beasley being the Heat’s core. And seeing the latter two doing so well this year, it kinda makes me wonder. But I’m definitely not complaining about what we have now :) LET’S GO HEAT!

I'll do it myself!

No doubt.

I think James and Bosh for Beasley and Wright is a pretty fair trade off! I hope Steph can play tonight. He’s a fun player to watch. But at least we get to see Monta Ellis. And it’s on ESPN!!! Being stuck in Ohio means I don’t get to watch as many games as before (when the Dollar Man lived in Miami.) Be thankful Heat fans. You have Eric Reid. He calls a great game (unlike the Cavaliers TV crew. Just awful!)

1+3+6=how many rings???

I love Eric Reid

But for those interested, tonight telecast on ESPN will have Bill Simmons. If anyone has paid attention to his columns and comments, he has been the biggest Heat basher since the whole thing went down this summer. I love watching the games on Sun Sports, but i think tonight ill have to watch it on ESPN because i want to know what hes going to say.

FWIW.....D Wright, in games I have seen him play....

He has looked really good. Playing aggresive within team, handling, passing and shooting. Even getting his nose dirty by rebounding and pushing the ball up and leading the break!! Happy for him, however I hope we continue our streak of wins and clobber them!!

Go HEAT

Should be a very entertaining contest between the two teams.

Heat have been bringing the D lately and I hope they bring it tonight...

with some guys on that other team that can score some points—Steph included if he is in there. Good point about Damps impact; I remember a lot of people were pointing to his stats as a reason not to bring him in, but when he has been on the court, he adds a presence for one thing and along with big Z, give the Heat a good 1,2 at center I think. Lets go Heat! Beat the Warriors!

+1 on Damp,

These two big Centers remind of the big Centers of the 90’s Bulls: big space eaters who are more valuable than what their stat sheet might read for the most part.
