Heat release Patrick Beverley and De'Sean Butler
According to Ira Winderman, the Heat have released Patrick Beverley and De'Sean Butler.
Personally, im not a fan of this move because we have 4 centers on the roster with a coach who also likes to play his 4's at the center position every now and then. I understand everyones issue with Maglore being able to size up against the Lakers, but until the playoffs with this team we dont even know how much of a problem this will be.
My first choice was to keep De'Sean Butler. I think having a kid who would have been a lottery pick if he didnt get hurt was wise for the future. I know were all about winning now, but you want to be able to look down the road as well. This team is deep enough to be able to hold him on the roster spot until he is healthy.
Secondly, i would have been ok with keeping Beverley because of his defense at the PG position, which we lack consistency in.
I would have much rather kept either of those 2 players instead of Maglore. Dont get me wrong, i like the Big Cat but i honestly think we could have used the other 2 players more.

I don't disagree
How would Butler contribute anything at all this year when he would backup Lebron, Miller & now Stackhouse? He could have been a steal but it had to be done
Our failure was resigning that bum Joel. We’d be better off starting Magloire or Pittman, centers who can actually catch a f***ing ball
Wanna prove you are a true heatfan? Remind people you lived through the Mark Blount era
Magloire cannot play many min per game because he fouls a lot and gets tired early. Pittman would have the same problems as well as being a rookie. And how would Magloire contribute this year backing up Joel, Big Z, Bosh, and Haslem. Yes, Bosh and Haslem. They will get min at center as well. We knew that Butler would not contribute this year, but this team does not need the 15th man to produce. I am very dissappointed with this move
I am...
…really surprised. I think this has more to do with team chemistry than anything else. I mean honestly, does the 15th man on any team’s roster contribute all that much? At least not on the court. But off the court and in the locker room is where Magloire’s impact can be felt and this is probably more than most 15th men can contribute. Still, I think Butler might end up being a player in this league. A move we may regret down the road. But hey – Riles knows what he’s doing. Thirty hours until tip-off!!!
1+3+6=how many rings???
Here we go! Enough of this pre-season bs. Go Heat! Beat them old Celtics.

Life seemed so sweet and so sad, and so hard to let go of in the end. But hey, man, every day is a brand new deal, right? Just keep on working and something's bound to turn up."

Hmm
WTF?
Cut Butler?
I am not pleased by this move, but Riley has pulled a rabbit out the hat before.
Can’t really be upset when you think about it.
This guy orchestrated a championship roster back in 2006 and now he has done it again but only this time it’s a dynasty in the making.
Really wish we kept Butler though.
But let’s go heat!
Miami Thrice is incredible....Heat Tri-nasty is inevitable!
Not all bad for Butler
The only thing that sucks for him now is that he can’t rehab in a top facility. Hopefully he rehabs and becomes a good player, but he would of been buried on the bench here like D Wright. Now he can go some where for next year and get some min. I realize keeping young potential is neccesary for most teams but not this one. there will be guys begging to play for the Heat year after year. Trust in Pat.
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!

Great call Pat
No need for projects when its about winning NOW. The biggest issue for this team will be Rebounding and post defense and if Joel Anthony, Pittman and Jamal can provide it they will win it all, simple as that. Beverly and Butler are nice stories but None of them are guarding Pau, Bynum , Dwight Ho, or the Oneals.
WOW...
I am surprised. Really… Well, I just hope when Miller heals, they waive Stackhouse then sign Butler mid season? No? Anyway… THE REGULAR SEASON IS ABOUT TO START!
A Shocker...
But I do understand why Pat made this move. Hopefully nobody gets Butler.
Why you mad?

Agree 100% on Butler
We needed to keep him. One team is going to find a buried treasure.
