BREAKING NEWS: Alonzo Mourning joins Heat front office as Vice President of Player Programs and Develoment

It certainly didn't take Alonzo very long after announcing his retirement to return to the Miami Heat.  Unfortunately, Zo's playing days are over, but he will still have an impact on what we see from our Miami Heat on the basketball court.  Alonzo has accepted an offer to become the Vice President of Player Programs and Development.  Basically, he will be a mentor to our younger players and help the team off the court without being 'a coach', which Zo said he could never do because of his lack of patience.

Don't get me wrong, I love bringing Alonzo back to be a part of the Heat, but does anyone else find the timing convenient?  Right after a very busy NBA Draft day in which the Heat do nothing while their Eastern Conference competitors have made moves to improve themselves, the Heat throw this 'distraction' at you.  I'm just sayin...

appreciate the respect heat gives zo but i agree we seriously need to do something in terms of our roster or else we might not even make the playoffs with shaq, carter coming back to the east

Carter was already is the east,

I’m not worried about Shaq, he’s old and won’t be able to do much, the Cavs will need another post player. Everyone says Carter is better than Turk, but he’s not 6’10 so there will be less match up problems.

...but its a very intriguing distraction

Hi everyone…I’m new here, but a big Heat fan, so I’m, sure everything will workout.

And to everyone that thinks we need to make a move NOW…have patience, we don’t want to get pressured into a decision that cripples us in the future.

Welcome

Hope you stick around here

The argument about what we should do is up in the air. I dont want bosh for beasley or something huge but we are losing ground. I dont know mcuh about our new players or if they will have any sort of impact.

what can we do with the MLE?

I've never liked Bosh

…Beasley has just as much potential and is younger (and is already with us) not to mention cheaper for now…

There’s not much out there right now…that’s why we’ve got to be careful with what we do (I’s sure Riley has a plan though)

I think the dude from Arkansas might be able to play some good defense and the PG position and add some rebounds (I saw he had something like 8 a game in the SEC)…Don’t know a thing about the other guy…?

I've actually heard of Doziers name.

He’s our Ronny Turiaf I guess.

and bosh has is limits. He’s a jump shooting big man first and foremost and he doesn’t like to play C which we would need a lot of ala Gasol

Oh and as far as zo goes

He’s basically Patrick Ewing without the assistant coach title. Hope he doesn’t get fat like him
