Jermaine O'Neal and Yakhouba Diawara re-up with Heat

9eaf4a8a-4134-4dc6-8d87-da5dcfc250ad_medium

As expected, both Jermaine O'Neal and Yakhouba Diawara have exercised their contract options for next season.  This comes as a reminder that we can rest easy knowing that one of the biggest problems we faced last year is solved for the near future.  Jermaine is a solid center, and hopefully will come back refreshed and sharp after the extensive off-season workout plan he's planned for the summer. He is set to make $23 million next year, and Kooba will be earning $945,000.

Two other players that are expected to exercise options for next season are Chris Quinn ($1.5 mil) and Mark Blount ($8 mil).

23 million.....(pause for it to set in)

seriously….out of control.

thats equal to 2 Dwight Howards….more than Kobe/Bron/Wade…if Im not wrong….only guy that gets more is Garnett(25mill i think)

I disagree….he isnt a solid center…he is for maybe 10 min a game. He’s a soft 7ft center that doesnt fight for the rebounds….i basically hate him. I basically would invite Ernest Wilford over for dinner before him.

2010…..I need u.

The nose is a good player if you wanna try to keep a 30 pt lead in the 4th….otherwise hes useless.

Kooba is a good defender...thats about it.

If he could shoot as well as Udonis Haslem (who I realize doesnt take 3s, but has a solid J) then we’d have something. Still…Riley must like him, otherwise he’d be gone. I still think there is a chance he may not be here, especially if the Heat plan on re-upping Jamario Moon.

I like that you used a picture of O’Neal wearing the appropriate uniform. I can’t tell if that’s his home uni or his away threads.

For 23 Million,

J.O. better be healthier than Michael Phelps.
He was kinda looking tired and slow.
And where did his “All-Star” quality shot go? He better find it.

Album coming soon
