Why can't the Pistons stop Dwayne Wade?
I'm a Pistons fan, and everytime I watch Heat-Pistons since 2006, I am convinced that no Detroit player/scheme/coach can slow Wade. In a completely non technical analysis, I would assume that's because:
- We don't have anyone who is Wade's size and quickness
- We're not a particularly athletic team
- It's a mental thing - ever since he tore our heart out during the Championship year, he's had our number
I may be wrong about his success against the Pistons, but I somehow doubt it. I would love someone to explain this to me in-depth. Thanks.

Quick Version Answer
Wade doesn’t get shut down by defenders (i cant think of anyone in the NBA who shut’s him down alone), so its either you double/triple team him or hope he has an ‘off’ night. When the Heat play the Pistons, i think D-Wade always gets himself up for those ‘rivalry’ games…similar to how he preforms on another level in the playoffs.

Yeah
Same with Orlando. See the thing is when we play against Orlando, we may not always win, but Wade always has monster games. Its just some teams that cant stop him. The teams that dont have the lock down defensive presence. I agree with Dave that with the Pistons is has to be a little different in the fact that the rivalry they built up through the playoffs makes Wade want to play that much harder. Now that you guys dont have Mr. Big Shot anymore, it takes away one aspect that used to kill us.
Dont worry about it
he does that to everybody, not just the pistons
