Tracy McGrady (POLL)
So the Rockets have given T-Mac a leave of absence and are reportedly looking to trade him...this got me thinking...the Heat need another playmaker to help out DW, and when and if T is healthy, that is a big IF, he can be a superstar in this league as he has shown us...he will be pretty pricey, and idk if his salary will greatly affect what we can do in the offseason, but i really wouldn't mind having this guy on our team...he will take a lot of pressure off of Wade and would give us a great 2nd option that teams will definitely have to respect and honor...and plus with Beasley at the 4 (T would be at the 3, and sometimes the 2 with Wade on the bench or even at the point), we would have 3 very legit scoring threats and could be a scary team to face...we probably won't even show an interest in him, but i think it could be a great pickup if he is willing to take a pay cut and his salary doesn't affect what we can do in the free agency this offseason

Trading for McGrady would cost us Jermaine O'Neal. No thanks. That's the only way a deal gets done because of cap reasons. I'm not willing to give up a good center in a division where you need a quality center to compete.
Now, if Houston and T-Mac can agree to a buyout, that’s a different story. I’d definitely pursue him should he be let go by the Rockets. We’d have a deep rotation. I really believe we’d be a title contender with Wade, O’Neal, T-Mac, and Michael Beasley.
C- O’Neal
PF- Beasley
SF- McGrady
SG- Wade
PG- Carlos Arroyo
6- Quentin Richardson, SF/SG
7- Udonis Haslem, PF
8- Mario Chalmers, PG
9- Dorell Wright, SF/SG
10- Joel Anthony, C
That’s a rotation 10 deep (11 if Daequan Cooks ever wakes up). It’s also a title contender and in the same discussion as the Cavs, Celtics, Hawks, and Magic in the Eastern Conference.

good point
i didn’t think about who we would have to give up…i agree we have to keep O’Neal and he would most likely be part of that trade if we do even consider it…and who knows the way these things go sometimes, it can get very nasty and a could may not get done so the Rockets may very well buy him out, which opens the door for us, and if we do sign him, i believe that will be the move that DW needs to see to be convinced that the team is trying to build a winning team and give him some help and then he will sign…but yea T-Mac will make us a very formidable team…and i LOOOOOOVE that starting lineup you have up…gotta work a little on the bench though, not in love with that

What's wrong with the bench? That really is our bench. Lol.
If Q-Rich is moved to the bench, he’s an ideal 6th man. Udonis is Udonis. Chalmers has been a better fit off the bench and he’s the perfect back-up PG for this team. Dorell has been great off the bench this season. And Joel Anthony is our back-up center. What’s wrong with it?

haha i know
It looks nice with Q coming off the bench, but Chalmers has been struggling, what happened to him, he was great last year and i was a huge fan, but this yr he has been struggling…I love Haslem’s hustle and toughness and i do like him, but if we can get someone with a little more talent i am all for that…the bench is pretty decent, don’t get me wrong, but we can definitely do better

Haslem is the heart and soul of this team.
. There is no one better for this team at this point in time. As for Chalmers, he has had his struggles this season early on. But that doesn’t mean you cut him. He’s still very young and he’s going through a sophomore slump. He’ll get through it though, I have no doubt.
You have to be realistic. We’re not going to be able to get an entirely new bench during the middle of the season. The players I mentioned (with the exception of T-Mac), are part of this team, and will likely stay on this team for the rest of the year.

AND BEASLEY IS TOO SMALL FOR PF, WITH CHRIS BOSH AT CENTER, O’NEAL AT PF, RICHARDSON AT SF, WADE AT SG, ARROYO AT PG, 6-7-8 MAN BEASLEY HASLEM CHALMERS
If Michael Beasley is too small to play PF, than Chris Bosh is definitely too small (and skinny) to play C.
And Beasley AND Haslem both coming off the bench? That’ll never happen. That’s too many players who play the same position. Beasley is doing just fine at the PF position by the way. He averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds in the month of December. He’s is definitely not a SF!
Let me ask you this. With the way you have set your line-up, what do you think it’s going to take to land Bosh? Cause I hate to break it to you, but if you want to trade for Bosh, some of the players you have in that rotation would have to be traded to make it happen…..
by JP 23 on Dec 31, 2009 2:13 AM EST via mobile up reply actions
i think he is thinking of picking up Bosh in Free Agency in the offseason (maybe?)
and i agree Bosh is too small to play C…i would rather have O’Neal play Center, bosh at the 4 and Beasly at the 3 and have Q coming off the bench…we’ll have a big and athletic starting lineup and would cause a lot of problems for the opposition

The only problem with that is, we won't have enough money to Singn both Bosh and Wade AND be able to keep J.O, Haslem, Richardson, etc...

The Raptors do not want players from the same position, they want a shooter-type of guy like James Jones. And Chris Bosh dominates the C position in a by far tougher conference. And if you talk bout balance, we have two great PG, and Wade barely sits down.
by MiamiSports on Dec 31, 2009 10:23 AM EST up reply actions
Oh I see! So James Jones for Chris Bosh straight up? Ok I got you now. Ya that'll get the deal done. (Sarcasm)
by JP 23 on Dec 31, 2009 10:53 AM EST via mobile reply actions
lmao i was thinking the same thing
they would rather Q over James Jones and like 2 or 3 players total

I am not fucking saying that all we need to do is trade Jones, there is such thing as three-way trading. We could send Jones and some cash for Bosh, and another team would like some action.
chill dude, no need for the cursing
it was a joke, no need to take it so personally

What do you propose a 3rd team is gonna give up to Toronto and recieve from us?
by JP 23 on Jan 1, 2010 1:09 AM EST via mobile reply actions
...
Toronto wants shooters. We send them James Jones and cash, we get Bosh. A third team is going to deal with Toronto for they(toronto) can get another shooter.
If you're able to pull that deal off, than you are The greatest GM ever, hands down. But again, that will never happen.
Toronto will never EVER take that deal. Keep dreaming. First off, it won’t work because of the cap. Bosh makes way more money than James Jones does and we’re over the cap as it is. This arguement is really ridiculous to say the least, No offense.

We only have Trade Exemptions to give up.
We have $4.8 million in trade exemption money to give, plus the $4.4 million left on Jones’ contract. That’s $9.2 Million, we’re still a few mill short to equaling Bosh’s contract. Another player would have to be dealt. Someone like Q-Rich or Udonis Haslem (and a few first round picks. Are you ready to let go of one of them? Cause I’m not. If you want Chris Bosh, your gonna have to wait till after the season, when we can sign him as a free agent.
